Fireworks Night

Our Fireworks Night event is one of Cambridge’s longest-running and best-loved community traditions, bringing thousands of people together on Midsummer Common for a free, un-ticketed, and unforgettable evening of entertainment, food and spectacular fireworks.

The fireworks display, provided by award-winning and 100% carbon-neutral Pains Fireworks, will begin at 7pm, with food vendors, a live DJ and breathtaking walkabout entertainment from 6pm.

Walkabout acts this year include Ghost Caribou by Thingumajig Theatre, featuring two giant illuminated caribou puppets who will parade through Midsummer Common before coming together for a performance featuring folk dance and shadow puppetry.

Also appearing will be Sashimi by The Vortexes, featuring two stilt-walking jellyfish who will glide above the crowds, bringing a touch of whimsy and wonder to the evening.

Our Fireworks Raffle will also be returning this year, giving you the chance to win a prize whilst supporting the free event. Please keep an eye out on our website and social media channels for raffle details and announcements.
